Linguine's Italian Eatery on
Rte. 20 in Marlborough is a work in progress. Whether it turns
out to be a da Vinci or a pencil drawing remains to be seen.
The unassuming eatery, open for about two months, is affordable and the
portions are generous. What surprised me most were the pizzas and calzones.
They were served extremely quickly and both were among the best I've ever
had.
The pizza ($8.50 for a pepperoni) had a thin crust, tasty sauce, bubbling
cheese, and a generous sprinkling of pepperoni. The calzone ($4.95 for
prosciutto) was equally as delicious and filled with cheese and layers
of prosciutto. The calzone came with tomato sauce on the side.
In both, the pizza dough had an almost sweet taste. When the bread is
as delicious as the filling, you know the meal is going to be good.
